- Why do I do what I do? What makes me different from everyone else?
The reason I say I know what all of this feels like is because I’ve been there. I have generalized anxiety disorder that I’m very open about. It is part of my why and leads me to feel that same sense of overwhelm you feel every time you look at your blog. I know how it feels to not have enough time in the day to get everything done!
I am very open about my mental illness and use it as part of the reason I started my business. I wanted other people to realize that the stigma associated with mental illness just like mine should no longer be an issue. You should be able to speak about it at the dinner-table and at coffee dates. You should no longer have to keep it a darned secret from other people!
I wanted to help people get rid of the feeling that keeps me up at night, sweating bullets and hyperventilating. I don’t want you to go through what I used to every night before I started my business. This feeling of overwhelm is not for everyone and I want to get rid of it for you for good!
- What’s the turn-around time for written work?
This question depends on my workload at the time of contact between us. I like to make sure that the blog post or social media content is properly formatted for easy reading and to make sure it goes live properly when I tell it to do so.
- How do I pay you?
I’m usually pretty easy to work with when it comes to payment. You can pay me either by PayPal or Stripe unless there’s another method you want to use. Please let me know if you are outside of the United States and need accommodations for payment. We’ll have to figure something else out if that’s the case.
- What’s the payment schedule for your services?
I ask for at least 25% of the project invoice up-front before I begin the work. No work will be completed without percentage of the invoice payment. Once I get it, I will begin to work. I’ll ask for the remaining balance after the final draft is turned in. If you decide to pay the invoice up-front, you can do so.
- Can you write multiple posts for our blog? If so, can you do it on a certain schedule?
By all means, go ahead! Send me as much as you want me to do. Please be aware that if you want the material to be sent on a certain day, you have to let me know ahead of time. Otherwise, it might be sent later than what you wanted. We’ll go over the semantics of that before we sign the contract to avoid a miscommunication in that regard. But yes, I can definitely do the posts on a schedule for you. If you want a certain schedule to be followed, let me know!
- Will you write articles for me that I want you to place on sites you contribute to?
This is something called “placing articles” and it is something I absolutely refuse to do. It is illegal since it is against FTC guidelines. I am not a contributor to the website you might be thinking of as it is.Placing an article for you would mean I’d lose my reputation with people in my community. It would also mean I would lose my contributor status with that blog. I’m more than happy to ghostwrite an article if you have contributor rights. Those start at $200 per post.
- Do you do test runs when it comes to blogging or social media management?
I do not mind doing a test run with you for a period of time that you choose. However, that test run will need to be paid, according to my current rates. I do not give out samples for free. If you’d like some samples of my work on other blogs, you can go to my portfolio here. I have several that shows my writing style quite clearly.
- Are your prices negotiable? What if I can’t afford you at your current pricing?
My prices are not negotiable – I have set my rates based on the current market and my own experience in the industry. If you cannot afford me currently, then we can work something out if you still want to work with me. Payment plans may be applicable for those who want the ability to use them.
- What happens after we talk on the phone?
I will put together a quote and e-mail you the invoice with the amount of the quote. I like to customize each quote depending on your needs since you don’t have the same needs or wants as others. I will let you know how long I need to give you the finished product. I will make sure your needs are met over the phone and all your questions are answered.
- What’s your process for writing blog posts?
Once it is time for me to write the blog post for your company, I will write out a rough draft based on an outline I come up with. This outline is based on the topic we discuss, usually over phone or e-mail. I leave the blog post for a day or two until I come back to edit the piece with fresh eyes. After the editing is completed, I send it to you for your thoughts. After I receive a response from you, I will go back and edit as needed.
